Stayed here for work and Omg the hotel is amazing the staff are fantastic and the owners are legends. The hotel is spotless, the food was amazing, they had great beers on tap. The staff were next level kind and willing to help. The owners were funny, knowledgeable and very friendly. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here 10/10 👍👊
The hotel is absolutely spotless. The decor in the themed rooms and all around the hotel are amazing, pretty, quirky, and unique. Our room was large with a huge, comfortable four-poster bed. The bar is friendly and very lively with live music, that couldn't be heard from the rooms. The price charged was very reasonable, the service and staff is wonderful. There is plenty of onsite car parking. Also, there is a late check out of 11am, which is really handy. I would absolutely go there again and would highly recommend it. June 2025 Thank you, Hatters, for a great weekend, super friendly as always.
I stayed there Friday 27th until last Monday with friends it's a nice hotel the beds were comfortable and the staff were friendly
Lovely people & hotel! Thank you Gary for taking a Stand against the doom of the whole of the UK ;) xx May your future be beautiful!
We stayed at the hotel towards the end of August. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Dee was super great. The hotel is a nice walk from the main part of town with lots of very quirky features. We all love it.
Absolutely beautiful place, very much recommended for anyone to stay.
Came into the hotel 5 months ago, as recently moved to the area and was instantly hit with great hospitality, amazing local people and an atmosphere that makes me come back day after day. The host and hostess are great people and will tend to every need that the customer requires. The staff are brilliant and the decor of the bar and games room is to be seen to be believed.
Really enjoyed our stay here, we were off peak and the place was fairly quiet. The website warns the bar is fairly lively and we'd booked rooms away from this in case the noise kept our kids awake - we didn't hear any noise from the bar. The rooms are nicely decorated but a little cramped in places, though overall they are clean and well looked after. We didn't see many staff on site, the girl who checked us in also worked the bar, but off-peak I wouldn't expect to see a lot of staff. We didn't stay for breakfast, though next time we might as it seemed fairly reasonable. Pros- interesting decor, clean, reasonable noise levels, big TV in room, fairly scenic location (for Skegness) Cons- mattresses were pretty thin so didn't sleep too well, rooms got cold though the bedrooms had heaters in. Fire alarm went off early morning (not in itself a complaint but the hotel acknowledges these are sensitive).
Great place to stay, had problems with the hotel we had booked and was told that they had put us in a room for 3 people when there were 4 of us, so decided to try hatters and got 2 rooms for us straight away. No hassle, great staff and amazing people. Will definitely come back <3
Absolutely fantastic place. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The bloke has his own taxi. Genius. Rooms are very cosy. Genuinely it was me and wife's first getaway together and was so worth it. Every moment was a memory. We will see you again soon guys.
Amazing stay! Stayed here over Easter on the Saturday. There was a group of family so we booked 4 rooms in total and we was all happy with each room, Considering ages in our group ranged from 5-72 yrs old i think thats impressive. Such a quirky vibrant place to be and overall an amazing hotel. We were lucky enough to have a band play the night we stayed which was a lovely touch. Unfortunately a few of our group were not well and when my partner couldn’t eat his dinner when it came out, Wendy the chef offered to wrap it up n save it for later, which then she reheated and served. This was a kind gesture that we really appreciated. The mixed Grill was a stand out dish. Wow. Also the breakfast was really good, great value & a nice chat with Wendys lovely husband. The bar is such a good vibe, cant wait to return on better form and make the most of the facilities here because it was such a good atmosphere all night. Dee the owner was in the bar and she had time for everyone, including the kids who wouldn't leave her , her dog and snake alone lol she was very welcoming and not once made us feel uncomfortable about the kids being in her space. Overall we all felt extremely comfortable & relaxed, we felt the hotel has so much to offer, not only the great building & decor, the facilities etc, but the great owners & staff positively impacted our stay. We have already discussed some potential dates to return and cannot wait to do so. Definitely recommend.
Just Arrived. Location: easy to find Room: nice in fun colours, my daughters loved it, four poster beds we have are cool. Rooms are clean, bathroom is clean I see other People negative comments and just dont get it. Overall for £77 a night we are happy👍. Will use again if we travel to Skagness again.
Lovely Sunday lunch we both had lamb and enjoyed every bit of the meal from the fresh veg to the Yorkshire puddings. Sadly on our 5th visit standard of food has diminished now unrecognisable compared to previous visits, vegetable's were so overcooked there was absolutely no taste Yorkshire puddings were frozen ones, roast potatoes were just a mushy mess. We arrived just after 1pm to be told they had been very busy so an hour into service and hardly anything left.
My son Chris and I stayed at the Hatters 5/10/23- 6/10/23 . I had booked a room with 2 beds , after a small hiccup with the booking system I phoned the hotel to check ,I spoke to the owner Dee, she immediately put me at ease with my booking she then offered a free upgrade with a choice of rooms, I went with the Cheshire Cat room , I also mentioned that my daughter was a big Alice in wonderland fan and we will be calling with her on our way back home the following Monday. Dee then said that my daughter could have a bunch of room keys to look round the themed rooms . This would because big surprise for her, I had planned to have lunch there but food starts from 4pm after breakfast , unfortunately to late for us . We called Monday 9/10/23 and true to her word Dee gave us the keys to vacant rooms , my daughter was overwhelmed with excitement. The hotel also has a vintage shop, and is in the process of creating an Alice gift shop. The breakfast was lovely ,the bar is great . Our room was great with 2 rooms so we had our own privacy, everything was clean , nice kettles too. We plan to stay next year for definite, well worth a visit it's a fab hotel and Dee is lovely
Absolutely fantastic!! We stopped last night in The Wonky room, beautiful room, clean, huge comfy bed ( which I struggled to get out of this morning) big bathroom, beautifully decorated and quirky furniture. The staff are amazing , friendly, accommodating, couldn’t do enough! Highly recommend, can’t wait for our next visit.
Stayed here for 2 nights beginning of June, room was a basic one but clean and comfortable, hotel was nice and quite and the bar area was lovely, breakfast was fantastic, but sadly they no longer do meals, which is a shame as breakfast was great! Highly recommend for any Alice in wonderland fan!
Hotel is Alice in Wonderland themed with interesting objects and decor. Very clean, both public areas and rooms. Room was equipped with iron, ironing board and tea/ coffee making facility. The hotel staff were friendly, cheerful and well motivated. There was a very entertaining live band in the bar on Saturday evening, bar prices were quite reasonable.
It's got everything you want at a good price. Attentive staff and fab service. The bath fills up inside 2 minutes at a decently hot temperature. Doggy friendly. Remember it's at a good price, not everything is perfect but I'm not expecting or wanting to pay 'perfect' prices. It's clean, tidy and if you're a reasonable sort then this hotel is just the ticket. I intend to stay again.
Love love love this hotel. Spotlessly clean super friendly staff. The decor is adorable it has been done with absolutely love and quirky great taste.
Saw your interview tonight on GB NEWS and I want to say welldone completely agree with everything you said!!! And dee your correct it's no longer Great Britain!! Best of luck to you both for the future and I'm glad someone has back bone!!
Wow! This hotel is amazing! We booked on Booking.com. Didn’t think anything about it apart from it was our wedding anniversary holiday. When we arrive we was told we had the Executive Suite (Queen of Hearts room) Oh my word… this room is bigger than where we live (no word of a lie!) the decoration, bed, furniture and bathroom was amazing. All staff was friendly and helpful. When we did eat here the food was beautifully made with care and tasted amazing. We would definitely return to stay here again! 10/10
The reviews I have read don't match my experience of this hotel. The bedding and towels were dirty and stained, there were crumbs on the bottom sheet. The breakfast was terrible.,firstly no staff to clean the tables that were full of dirty plates. .we had to ask to join another party to sit down. It was self service so we helped ourselves to fruit juice, the kitchen fellow came out with more toast for the hot counter and I asked for some more plates please, I didn't get a reply or a smile just a blank look he did bring more plates. The food was all contaminated with tomatoes and beans with people using the same utensil for all the breakfast items. The reception and bar staff were very nice and friendly . A lot more basic things needed at this hotel. we wiped all our surfaces in our room as we have done from the start of Covid. This room was not clean the bathroom however was very clean. We will not be returning.reply from the owners 😂 your response says everything. Thank you for your thoughts though, duly noted. Have a nice day
Absolutely loved the two nights myself and my family stayed here. The staff were very welcoming, the room was more than pleasing and I were impressed by the size of the rooms and the amount of towels, bedding and other items provided. The food was magnificent and there was plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend and will be returning again for sure.
Really enjoyed our stay! Alice in wonderland theme throughout the hotel is fantastic especially if travelling with children. Very big comfortable clean family room. Would highly recommend.
Comfortable stay with our dog. Really loved the hotel and the owners and staff were lovely. The room was fine and the bar is great and has been recently renovated to a high standard. There's a great dog walk around the corner, the food is great and the hotel is in a great position to enjoy the local sites. Enjoyed our stay and would stay again without hesitation
The Hotel and the rooms are tired, dirty and in need of a makeover. Pets are accepted but nothing appears to be done to mask the smell for guests that don't have pets. The bathroom had some cleanliness issues. My main issue was when the fire alarm was tripped at 3.40 on the morning of our departure. Everyone, in the main, cleared the hotel in sufficient time and congregated in the carpark. The problem was that no-one from the hotel was on site and the fire alarm wasn't linked to an out of hours contact number. If it wasn't for me calling a mobile number on the door they wouldn't have been any the wiser! When someone, I believe one of the owners, eventually attended site I tried to ask him why they didn't have someone on site or why the alarm wasn't linked to an out of hours number. He ignored me and walked off. I pressed him further and he said he didn't know why. I reported this to the local fire brigade. They are going to carry out a full inspection plus contact the company responsible for maintaining the alarm system to ask when it was last serviced. I won't be looking to stay there again any time soon.
Stayed for three nights. This hotel is brilliant. Friendly staff, excellent service and beautiful rooms. Breakfast was superb and well prepared. The bar is well stocked and wonderful.
We booked Hatters Hotel for a special birthday as we wanted to stay in the Wonky room it looked amazing. We had read the reviews and one of the reviews said the hotel had double booked a guests room previously so we emailed the hotel at the beginning of October to ask if they could confirm we definitely had that specific room and highlighted the previous double booking we had read about and we had a 5 hour drive to get to them, the hotels owner emailed to confirm we would definately have that room. On our way we emailed them to tell them we were coming. When we checked in we were given the key to the room and we put our luggage in then went to have a look around the hotel. The owners arrived with their case and asked us if we had already checked in and we said yes, they then told us we could not have the room as they needed it due to a crisis at their home but also said they had all their family staying in that area. At first we thought they were joking and I reminded her about us asking them to confirm the room as we had a five hour journey we had been given the room key and had paid for it, the owner insisted we had to move and they had been too busy to let us know but also said they had known of the room change for two days if they had told us we would have canceled she kept saying sorry and gave us 5 room keys and told us to go and choose another out of the 5 rooms and offered us a refund and free breakfast, she did not come with us and we were walking around the hotel looking for the numbers it was really upsetting but we had no choice as to stay there as we had a 5 hour journey and would have caused more stress to try and find a room elsewhere at such short notice. It ruined my birthday plans and we did not feel comfortable after to use the hotel bar and we missed a live band. We since found out on their page they were throwing a party for a staff member and that was why they had taken our room as they had their own guests and they wanted to stay there, in my mind it was not professional if we had the choice of all the other rooms they could have put their own family and friends there and honoured our booking as that was made a while before. Can I add the room replacement was lovely, clean and comfortable, we could not fault that and we were given a refund and we declined the breakfast, we had to go elsewhere for the evening as we were upset and did not want to spend the evening in their company as it was their party.
This was a late booking after a last minute let down by a different property. We were welcomes with a warm reception and the room was very clean. It looks like all the bedrooms are Alice in Wonderland themed. We had Alice sitting on top of our wardrobe with a yellow 4 poster bed. The only down side was the bathroom door would not close (we forgot to report this but did not affect our stay). There is an added bonus of parking on site . There is also a bar and restaurant. We ate in the bar and the food was great. Also there was a live band on so we never left the place for the evening. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet so a good nights sleep was had.
I had the pleasure of staying at The Hatters recently, and I must say, it was a lovely experience. The hotel's dog-friendly atmosphere was a major plus for me, as I was able to bring my dog along without any hassle. The staff at The Hatters deserve special recognition for their exceptional friendliness and attentiveness throughout my stay. The room was very clean and bed was comfortable. I cannot recommend The Hatters highly enough for their exceptional hospitality and commitment :) ** I feel it is important to bring attention to a regrettable incident involving a regular guest at the hotel bar. It is disheartening to say that a skinny, blonde woman in her 50s who most of the time can be found smoking cigarettes outside the hotel bar displayed racist and very unfriendly behavior, causing me and my beloved dog great distress. Without any provocation, this individual suddenly shouted and even made physical gestures towards us. The encounter left me feeling shaken and upset. It is imperative for the management to be aware of such incidents to ensure the comfort and safety of all guests.**
