Customer reviews
We're returning to Marmat again this year. The prices are very reasonable. We've seen positive changes every time. The room is spotlessly clean and spacious. The balcony provides additional space and the opportunity to relax outdoors. Mrs. Marylka is a lovely person who recommends interesting events in Łeba. We don't use the on-site parking lot due to the difficulties with leaving. I recommend parking opposite, behind the Upside Down House. It's an additional cost, but insignificant compared to other expenses. We'll definitely be back.
I agree and agree with most of the negative comments. The room is filthy, as if no one has cleaned it. It smells musty, yuck! The mattress is probably 10 years old, sagging, dirty, and we probably haven't even vacuumed it since new. The chairs are sticky. The armchairs are worn and look dirty too. The bedding supposedly has been replaced, but there's no guarantee it has. The parking lot is very tight. Cars are parked one behind the other, making it difficult to get out. For example, if you're a group of seven, six cars have to back out before you can get out. So, if you decide to stay here, be prepared to be locked out of your car because someone will block you. The overall experience is terrible. The only positive is the location, as everything is close by, but honestly, if I had the choice between walking 500 meters or staying at the MARMAT, I'd choose the 500 or even 1000-meter walk. I don't recommend it, and I won't stay there again.
Overall, unfortunately, I have to agree with the previous reviews. The ONLY positive is the location. Other than that, it's a disaster. Room 15 was incredibly dark, cold, and terribly damp—nothing dries. The room seems never cleaned—the floor is filthy, with hair everywhere, so you could stick to it. There's mold everywhere in the bathroom, and the kitchen cabinets are similar. The mattresses are thin and uncomfortable. The electrical outlets are caked with old dirt (grease?). There's no cutlery in the kitchenette; what little there is is dirty. So are the plates and the kettle. If anyone's interested, I have photos of everything I'm describing. It's unbelievable that anyone would share such a mess with guests with children.
Room number 1, time has stopped there, loud from the street, poor equipment, metal bed, cabinets like from the communist era, I do not recommend it, no garden, only a bench in front of the house
The only positive is the location. The owner seemed to be running this business as if it were a punishment. The front was facing the customer, but that front was the owner's back. No smiles for eight days. The mattresses were in terrible condition, with creases just like in reviews from years ago. The bathroom could also be cleaner. Long hairs in the shower. The shower head wasn't attached, the soap dish on the wall "rotated," and there was nothing to put on it, not even soap or a sponge. The parking lot is only in the name and the sign. The kitchenette doesn't have a sink or basic equipment. But if you want to be near the sea, it's a good option. That's the only plus. We don't recommend it. Don't be fooled.
Rooms clean, hot water, there is a kitchenette... A big plus for providing a washing machine.
I was under the illusion that negative opinions were described random events. Unfortunately not! The owner is VERY UNSYMPATHY, she even raises her voice at the guests. It creates problems with parking cars. She thinks that according to the regulations (in her head), cars can be moved between 9:00 and 10:00, so you can't go on a trip at 6:00 in the morning, you have to sit on the beach, because that's why you come to the seaside, you can't do anything else, and you have to go shopping on foot or take the Melex (because your husband drives). There is no cutlery, plates or cups in the rooms, you have to take them from the kitchenette, and there... first come first served, everything is missing. One small pot per floor, which disappears after 2 days. Beds uncomfortable, old, creased mattresses. The bathroom smells musty. The only advantage is the location and that's what tempted me. But I do not recommend this place because of the very unpleasant owners.
Nice location. This is where the advantages end for us. I called the lady a few days earlier and asked her to let us in if the room was ready, leaving behind a small dog that would be there after an 8-hour trip. The lady kindly said she didn't know what it would be like. Ok. On the day of arrival, I wrote to the lady that if the room was ready, please contact us to leave the dog, which is no problem. Unfortunately, we only arrived at 2 p.m. and were able to enter. Wherever we go, there is no problem with letting us in at least an hour earlier. The lady was surprised that we wanted to park in her yard for two days. In fact, I think it didn't suit her. Small rooms, micro bathrooms. The lady was rude to us, we felt her dislike towards us. We will not come back here, and we were guided by the opinions of other people.
I was at Marmat and I was very disappointed. Since we've been traveling with my family, I've never had such a great time with accommodation as I did here. The building seems to be nice and cool, etc., at the entrance there are illuminated stairs, but inside there is mess, stench and poverty. Personally, I would be ashamed to admit guests to such rooms that require major renovation. The bedding on the beds was from a different parish, the child's pillowcase was torn, the mattresses were so bad that I lay down and fell in and I could feel the bed frame, the kettle was scaly and the water couldn't be boiled, the curtains were dirty, but the best part was the bathroom with a dirty shower tray and black moldy grout. Zero space to put anything in this bathroom. Just call the sanitary inspectorate to see it. You can dream about towels and cutlery, and I thought it was common in guesthouses, but not here. We asked for a vacuum cleaner on Thursday, but unfortunately we didn't receive it until Sunday. The owner said she only had one and it didn't pull very well. For such a 2-story guesthouse, 1 vacuum cleaner. But the best thing is the parking lot where the owner directs the traffic and every morning at 9 you have to get your car in to move it. If you like cleanliness and order, and at the same time want to sleep while on vacation, this is not the place. The only advantage is a seat, but unfortunately, a seat is not everything. I advise against it.
The impression when entering the staircase was very good. A big disappointment was the shared kitchenette, which, first of all, has no sink, so you can't wash anything, and there was only one pot. There is nothing in the room apart from a kettle, so I recommend taking your own cups, plates and cutlery with you. The beds are a total failure, old hard and small couches. Generally, the advantage is the location, close to the beach and the city, but I definitely won't go back there.
Even though it was 2 p.m., the lady let us into the room much earlier when we arrived. It was a large room with a kitchenette, although it's not a kitchenette, but a kitchen where you can easily cook anything. Close to the beach, I recommend it
The room was quite clean, although there was a musty smell in the bathroom, and we were given a duvet 3/4 wide of the bed for two people and a sheet covering half of it... There was an odor of a not very clean toilet in the corridor... Close to the beach, parking available. Night lights are also a plus.
I don't know where these negative comments are coming from! It's close to the city center and about 400 meters to the beach. The rooms are clean, but obviously not luxurious, but the price is adequate to the quality! We're happy and would recommend.
Everything's great. Clean, nice, large bathroom, perfectly large room for a couple. Even though it was 24:00, the lady prepared the room for us 3 hours in advance. Close to everything. The lady allowed us to store our bikes at the hotel without any problem. A kitchenette with a kettle in the corridor, but it doesn't disturb anything. Dishes and a fridge that works! in the room. Great vacation :) The only minus is the lack of parking. Paid everywhere and we also had to arrange this. I will definitely come back here when I am in Łeba.
On OLX they advertise in the title of the ad 300m from the sea, in the description of this ad it is already 400m and in reality it is 480 in a straight line but since people cannot fly yet, the shortest walking route is 600m. And why this trickery?
Great location. The room's only drawback was a dirty bedspread. As for the bathroom, the toilet is probably not cleaned at all, public bathrooms are much better. When we managed to park in the parking lot next to the property, the owner quickly told us to move to the paid parking lot, claiming that it was his private sidewalk and he couldn't use the electric car because our car was too big. The anomaly of all this was the car, which parked there a moment later (a station wagon) and stood there until we left, without disturbing the owners. Unfortunately, the owners do not like their guests.
Conditions adequate to the price. A low rating caused by the behavior of the owner who in an unpleasant and arrogant way told us to go to the room because we couldn't have a drink like a human being, on the owner's property where there was a table and chairs outside. We arrived with children who were laughing and talking and unfortunately the owner was bothered by this because there was no silence. You can say that there is no parking because it's a lottery whether there will be a free space or not.
The biggest advantage is the location, very close to both the sea and the center, and this mainly affects the rating. The price doesn't seem to be high, but if you're unlucky you have to pay for parking. Rooms of average standard, could be more clean. The bedding did not cover the entire bed. Bathroom ok.
I recommend it, my boyfriend and I were there and our impressions were very good. The room was nicely decorated, spacious and clean. The owner was nice and smiling, there was no problem with checking in a few hours earlier. I don't know where these negative comments about her come from, and if they are true, everyone can have a bad day, and I think that customers are not always so nice and pleasant, a little understanding. :) Great location, very close to everything. The only drawback is the parking lot, but it's not up to the owners, it's paid and if you get the right place, you'll find a free place to stay overnight. We will definitely come back! :)
It was our first time at Marmata. The overall impression was good. The rooms were very nice and reasonably priced. The sea is about 200 meters away, so it's not far either. The only criticism I have is the cleanliness here and there. The owner could smile more, but she was always willing to help when needed. Overall, I recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably cheap place to stay. Best regards.
I don't understand such a poor opinion of the facility, clean, spacious rooms with a kitchenette, great price, a stone's throw from the sea. The owner emphasized from the very beginning that there were no parking spaces for everyone, but there was a parking lot available across the street for PLN 10 per day. The owner is very nice.
Hello, I heartily recommend the MARMAT facility, we are going to this guesthouse for the second year in a row. Great location close to the center, close to the sea, impeccable cleanliness, every morning a nice young lady cleaned the rooms. There are mini studio kitchens in the corridors. small refrigerator, gas stove, cabinets with equipment. Bathrooms in the rooms are clean. The only thing we didn't like was the lack of decent TV reception. there were constant disturbances, but after all, we go to the seaside to have fun and go to the beach, not to watch TV: D this year we are bringing our friends with us to this place, it's a nice, nice and not expensive location, worth recommending.
The older gentleman was terribly rude, the wife could also be nicer and more open to the customer, speaking of renting bicycles. The choice is small, but after choosing the right bike for me during a conversation with my wife, because she doesn't rent it, only my husband, I went to pick up the bike the next day. It was 7:50 p.m., and the shop was open until 8 p.m., but the gentleman said it was too late, that he wouldn't rent it to me, and that I could come back the next day. I said I needed a bike at 6 a.m. and he said the opening hours were on the fence and it was open from 8 a.m.... I thanked him and went to the competition. I found out about the rental from his son, a very specific and nice gentleman, he took us to the dunes in a electric car and that's why I got an extra star.
Short but specific. I was there last season and I am writing my opinions when planning my next trip to Łeba. - The location close to the sea is a huge plus! - A favorable price for every wallet! - The rooms are fully equipped and I don't know what could be missing :) We were with family, we also booked 2 weeks in July and I wholeheartedly recommend it. There's a reason he books so far in advance
Nightmare - this is one word I can describe these "guest rooms". We were there in September, there was supposed to be a room with a kitchenette. He looked good in the photos, but after arrival the truth came to light. There was an unpleasant smell in the room, the toilet was terribly dirty, the toilet seat fell off the bowl immediately, the sink was clogged and leaking at the bottom, there was a dirty oilcloth on the table with some remnants of jam, I think. This was not what we expected from an apartment costing PLN 130 in the off-season. We packed up a few hours after arrival and found another guesthouse with a much better price and, of course, standard.
Horrible. Terrible conditions. The worst place I've ever encountered in Łeba, and I've been going there for years. A stay in a room that was disgusting in August – priced at 100 PLN, and for that price: - a dirty and untidy room, - damp and musty smell, - an unkempt and dirty bathroom, with mold on the tiles, - no toilet paper, - a peeling, burnt toilet seat, - an old, crumbling, and dirty wardrobe, - an old and creaking couch, - a mess in the refrigerator and kitchenette that no one cleaned, - a disgusting and sticky communal kettle, and for your own good, it's best not to use the other dishes... - old, dirty, and torn screens, - warning! There are no parking spaces described as "on the property," you have to leave your car on the street, and the owner refers you to a paid parking lot... This is just a general impression of this disgusting place, which I advise against everyone staying. The rooms are hardly "hospitable." For this price, you can find much better conditions. Compounding the problem is the hostile and unpleasant owner. There's no way she'll refund your deposit due to the poor conditions! Fortunately, the weather cooperated, so we spent very little time in this filthy room. I honestly don't recommend it.
1 is still too many -> 0 stars! The owner is just a scammer. Hardly anything actually matches what is included in the offer. Better pay her good money and go away, little gray man! It offers a grill that you can't do because it's not allowed!! It offers a parking space so much that we got a ticket!! Clogged toilet every day!!! Kitchenette - ha! A shoe cabinet in the hall with barely a microwave and kettle on it! Nay! The lady required us to remove the duvet covers on the day of departure so that she wouldn't have to do too much work! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!!!
Close to everything, clean room, the only downside is the parking lot where you have to show your car every day.
I called today to book accommodation, and the lady checked and said she had availability and gave me a price per night. When I called again to book accommodation, she said it would be too cheap and quoted me a much higher price. I warn you, don't do that.
No one is interested in anything, in the description there is a parking lot, we parked next to the facility and the owner threatened us with the police that it was "his sidewalk" and we have to park in a paid parking lot, in the description there is a grill, probably at the neighbor's because there is no grill on site or there is no place for it, there was no Wi-Fi in the room, very poor equipment in the rooms, I'm afraid to take a shower, such crap. A TV from 20 years ago keeps changing colors and volume. One microwave for 3-4 kitchenettes, no tableware, you have to go to the kitchen every floor and pick up a fork, a mug, etc. Overall, the conditions are very poor, and there is a huge gap compared to the conditions shown in the description and in the photos. The only advantage is close to the sea.
