Paid for a room for a week, 2nd day it was shot up along with 3-4 other rooms and the vending machine and the steps and a few people cars. I had my children with me, by the grace of god I laid my babies down early because had they been standing up on the bed or jumping we would’ve lost one of our babies. They have a no refund policy which is understood, I asked to be credited to go to another haven they have at another location and unfortunately I was told they couldn’t which is blowing me because I had to pay for both my front and back window to be repaired to my car , along with dodging bullets and asked to be moved to another room, but was denied. Along with having to move my children a day after paying the weekly to another hotel. I need to speak to management

Rooms are ok but employees give you fines of a hundred dollars and up about trash being in the trash can and if a dish is in the sink. Everytime you put something in the trash you have to take it out right away or that’s a fine mean while there’s are shoot out everyday light kids walking around with guns and people getting high outside but no fines

I paid for a room for a week and I have three children and a grandson. After giving me the room key and me getting the kids settled I get called to the office to tell me I have to choose between the kids as to which child is going to be inside the room. I asked if I could get a second room because all four children are minors and they told me no. I asked for a refund and they told me that I can’t get a refund but I need to decide which one of the children will be staying and which one will be leaving. I’m not putting kids outside in a hotel nor do I have money to throw away.

I am currently residing here with my children while transitioning from another area. Although I pretty much stay to myself, when I do go out the neighbors are really sweet and respectful. It’s like a little community. The children play outside just like any other complex while the parents sit on their porches. They even have little events for the kids at times. The room I’m in #51 is clean and very nice. Everything works as it should and I’m having no issues. The staff is very nice and helpful. I’m lucky to have found such a place at this time in my life and I’m utterly grateful. I would recommend them 100%.

I just recently returned from a year long stay in Japan with my grandparents and decided I needed to stay at a hotel for a night, before making the long drive back home to union county. I search Google for any nearby, and knowing DeKalb, it'll be tough finding a decent hotel. Pricing wasn't an issue. Most hotels are either booked, or awaiting a reservation. Normally, I don't look for anything below 3 stars for a reason, but it's getting late. I had been traveling for 5 hours already, either by foot, train, or car. That brings me to the haven hotel. In all my years, I've never wanted to sleep in my car, rather than in a room. From the very first moment, chaos. A one day stay, Is about $80 a night. As we speak with staff, we notice nobody is there. After about 10 mins, someone comes in, she's Cordial, about my height which I found funny as I'm shorter than most, so my fiancee had to do the payment situation. We pretty much finished our transaction until a Mixed woman interrupts, talking about some fine for us, that we were in room 200 or something. It took her own employee to convince her, we just bought a room for 1 day, today. She storms off soon after, talking about she don't care anyways. So we get our keys, and head back to my car. We drove around the parking lot looking for our room, but notice some vending machines on another set of stairs. So we went to go buy some, maybe a few drinks. The vending machines, literally had condoms for sale, and made us both laugh hysterically. 😂 My Cupcakes, and Snickers bar also costed me $3 each, so that was just nono. We noticed a Lot of people sitting in the parking lot, in the walkways being loud as possible. Music blasting, horns blaring screaming, you name it. We walk upstairs, and this random kid, like not even 19 asks if we know "Zaza" or something. We say No, and leave for for our "room" Yeah, this place was nasty. It smelled like bleach, but seemed clean. We didn't have a TV, and the front office had to find maintenance to fix it. Although they closed at 5pm, and it was already about 3pm. We checked the bathroom, and the shower had stains on it, the toilet had no back cover, was also off the floor because the floor was dry rotted. We had no Hot water. AC was beyond dirty, luckily it didn't smell bad, we cleaned it though. As we waited for maintenance, one of our beds breaks just by sitting on it. There was a lot of visible patchwork from recent fixes, like lights, or pipe damage. Turned on our burners, to find they worked, but our fan and light didn't. We closed our door trying to look past everything, relax, and noticed it wasn't even aligned correctly. So the door often didn't close correctly. Our shower curtain wasn't attached, so it fell and hit me when I tried to open it. 😤 We also had random kids or people knocking, and sitting nearby. So, I decide we go next door to get some Chinese food. As we return, We're greeted with Maintenance and the front office already in our room. Slightly taken aback, we thank them for getting the TV so fast, and fixing the bed. They finish their jobs, and we get to relax, yay... Until we see a cockroach crawling on the *new* TV. Immediately, I'm disgusted, and want to leave. My fiancee tries to get our minds off things. We finish eating, outside, and we come back to our room after buying some roach spray at a nearby store. As we walk upstairs, we notice a little girl has my father's priceless necklace. I asked her where she found it, and she ran to her mother. Luckily she was understanding and returned the necklace. The necklace has my name on it. I learn that, the front staff returned to take "pictures" of the room's damage, but left my door open. Specifically the mixed woman. Since we asked the Mexican lady about the cameras, and she kindly informed us of the mistake. We had our Laptop, 2 smartphones, and some of my jewelry stolen. We decided to leave at around 6pm, however we were denied a refund. So we charged it back with my bank, and got a room at the united hotel instead. Worst hotel ever. United was far better.

Genuinely the most Repulsive hotel I've ever had the pleasure to know existed, let alone stay a mere week at. where do I even begin with this Landfill of Symbiotic Fecal matter? The Area - Very few businesses to buy most common products. "some" necessities are provided by the front office. Which would be nice if they didn't arbitrarily close whenever they want, preventing tenants from adding cash to their washroom card, or buying those necessities. (some things like Stamps, Envelopes, Trash bags, Toilet paper, etc) The parking lot always has cars driving like maniacs at 30mph. They'll sit in the middle of the parking lot for hours! Kids in the area are completely unsupervised. A few teens kept looking into my Window on several occasions, pointing at my laptop. One of those same kids, tried asking my relative if they could take my trash out for money. I knew what they were trying to do, and told him to leave and not come back. He retaliated by getting his friends to Bang on my door, Kick my door, for the entire week I had stayed. I attempted to make the staff aware, but, they didn't care, and told me to deal with it. While still on the subject, several kids kept pulling the fire alarm at 3am. They did it so often, the fire department had to place cases on the alarms, lock them, and add another separate alarm. Walking to the closest store, Which is a CVS, has you walking across a busy highway. Dangerous? absolutely. What's more dangerous, is the trip itself! Many Homeless people begging. I had a man stalk me to my front door, asking for a dollar, and to buy a cigarette. Why would he need money if he had money?! he also cursed me out, when I genuinely didn't have it. The entire location smells like Human waste. Other tenants for some odd reason, loiter around standing in front of people's rooms. I went food shopping 1 day, to only return to my room which was broken into, and my tablet was stolen. I couldn't even sleep. Someone was always banging at my door. The Staff - Absolutely Abysmal. Sometimes they'd close at 2pm, others at 6pm. They commonly have either new hires, or are short staffed, as most people they hire quit within the month. They're hardly ever available to fix their busted rooms, to fining tenants with bogus charges. They inspect every week, sometimes multiple times a week, inconsistently on different days of the week, because they can't communicate well at all. I had my room inspected 3 times, by 3 different woman. I genuinely tried to deny the 3rd, as I thought it was another thief. funnily enough, I never saw a single male at the front desk, just females. I had left a cup on my countertop, as I was drinking a glass of Ginger ale. Everything was in order until this mixed woman, with a clear attitude thought she noticed a Cat, which was my Taxidermy Statue of my pet, I was mailing back home. I explained this to her. My sister was in the area, cleaning out our storage shed, she dropped it off, with other things. at 12PM, security, for the first time ever, hands me two contracts, demanding I sign them, stutters, and refused to tell me what it was until I read both papers, and handed them back unsigned. he wasn't happy, and even said he had hundreds to give out. I was fined for a single Cup, and a Statue Cat. after a few days, I attempted to dispute them, was met with more aggression from the same woman. I even showed her the statue, to which she doubled down and ignored. How professional is it, to hire an Ignorant, malicious, bully who is paid to think? maids will enter your room, even if you're not present. The rooms - Infested. homeless. drug addicts. cockroaches. Grasshoppers. spiders. Snakes. stray cats. rats. I even heard someone had bed bugs.... I got a room, where the toilet wasn't even attached to the floor, because it was rotted all around it. My sink leaked. My dresser was busted. My door had a broken hinge. I never had cold water. My shower drain regurgitated some weird liquid. the floors had water damage. All in all. I now know what the worst Hotel in the United states is like.

The covers had cigarette burns, the TV didn't have a remote, and heater was noisy but did not warm the room. It was 40 degrees and they would not send anybody to look at it or fix it. Just ridiculous!! I slept in my car in the parking lot just to stay warm. Someone from the office used a key card, went into my room while I ran an errand, and stole some a few things. They should be ashamed of themselves. I don't know how they are still in business

By far the worst extended stay I've ever occupied. Management is crude. I personally spent almost $1100 to stay for a month and was thrown out without notice or reason, as well as given a criminal trespass warrant. This was only 10 days into our stay. So that they could move someone else in, literally 20 mins after they threw out my room and into the stairwell. Neither the managers nor owners show any type of empathy or human decency to any of their occupants. I wasn't allowed to make arrangements to remove my property and management personally placed my belonging into the hotel stairwell so that other tenants could take whatever they chose. I wouldn't advise anyone to waste their money or time here like I did. You will definitely regret it. They honestly didn't deserve the 1 star I gave.

My family and I had a great experience at this establishment. The room we stayed in was clean and everything worked properly. The front desk attendants (Arianna and Erica) as well as the maintenance (Norman) and housekeeping crew, were very helpful and attentive to any of the needs that we had during our stay. Thank you Haven for making my family's transition easier.

Room 46 had water SEWER damage, the maintenance man tried to blame it on us, saying we threw water on the floor. They moved us to another room. That room was 36. Roaches were everywhere. SOME OF THE STAFF Was very nice. The manager was nice, the girls at the front desk was nice. But over all, they house keeping sucked.

My wife and I were walking around looking at the property to see if it would be a great stay for us and i see someone complaining about bed bugs to another neighbor of theirs. As we were walking we also caught someone smoking crack in front of kids just in the middle of the parking lot. These workers don’t care about themselves or their residents. Do not spend your money here!!

I’m currently staying here. All the staff are friendly. The only problem I have is when the kids play outside and they are unsupervised. Kids play without a conscience and most of the time they ignore the traffic that comes through. Other than that I have no real complaints.

Hated this place very nasty and bed bugs beds look like old jail cell beds. Paid for 7 days when I viewed the room it was in ok condition not great but not worst at least I thought as it got later in the day which means darker outside roaches started to come out in the bathroom in the bed I had a double bed with my four children yet they left one set of towels for 5 people. When I checked out the next day because of this filth they refused to give me money back said Nk refunds so I basically paid $300 for one night please I do not recommend this place for anyone your better off going to a shelter... When asked for corporate number no one would provide me with the information this place is so horrible it doesn't even need 1 star it deserves a negative 10 stars

The most unprofessional place ive every went to.. First I booked a week in advance and was told my room would he held then on the day I book for they had no rooms available...the manager/owner was rude and disrespectful. Then when I returned a week later I was told they have availability but because I have 4 children they could not give me a room even though the manager/owner already knew that from the first time I was there and what makes it worse is that she remembered me. . No customer service skills and if you want to make a complaint you can't because the same ignorant manager/owner is the only person to speak to.

Terrible management that continues to walk in your room and harrasses you on a regular basis. Manager is on a power trip and treats others less than, she is not management material however she keeps going up on rent. Short notices that impact renters for the worse. The rent is too high for this hotel is low budget and ghetto. Drugs all over the premises. They get a big ZERO if you ask me. Management always changes due to code enforcement. This hotel should be shut down!

If their was a option to give no stars...this place deserves a zero. The rooms are extremely dirty and outdated. Major drug traffic, and a hot spot for prostitution. Very noisy at night and lots of people hang out outdoors. These guests have made this place there home. Don't visit this motel turned into the projects. The staff are rude and will not refund your money under no circumstances. If u decide to stay here...do a walk through before paying.

Horrible! Nasty! Disgusting place. The staff is very friendly, but do not deceived by the looks of the place. It is nothing more than an urban trash hub for everything you don't want to be around in the inner city. There were even shoot outs in front of my room. Frightened me and my kids. Will not be staying here again it recommending this place

I wish I could give this place no stars. My stay here has been a living hell. The bathroom was so dirty and nasty ( I went out and bought cleaning supplies and scrubbed the bathroom down), the floor had not been swept, no cable on tv (had to go out and buy a remote from the pawn shop and program it to the tv to get cable), WiFi does not work, housekeeping needs to be fired they suck they don't do anything ( they come around whenever they feel like it), so many drug dealers live here, maintenance only comes when they feel like it ( I have been waiting five days for them to fix my mini fridge), the room door is chipping away, kitchen cabinets dirty, dead flies in the window. This place is not worth $800 a month. The women working the front desk are not here to help they are just here to collect the money and that's it. At this moment there is no hot water. I honestly can't wait to leave this place, it needs to be closed down or hire new people to actually get this place on the right track. I wish I can get my money back for this room!

These people stole my money, they knew they gave me a room with nothing in it but a bed and TV. The wifi only works in the front of the building. The staff and management Verda is absolutely rude! i would not let my dog stay here. People for the amount you paying here you can have way MORE somewhere else. After my numerous complaints I paid for a week and they keep my money, I only stayed 2 days. THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES//// DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

I can't believe how RUDE they are. The black lady at the front desk with the kinky twists had the NASTIEST attitude I've ever seen. She told me the day before that they had rooms available. Well after spending money on an Uber to get all the way there, she told me she had sold the room 10 minutes prior to my arrival. (Keep in mind, I JUST spoke to her) So I was left stranded with nowhere to go! Then she said she would have it available the next morning. Well when I came back when they were SUPPOSED to open (she was late, of course. Typical B.P.T.) I was met once again with her RUDENESS and her saying she didn't have anything going to be available AGAIN! When I asked, why did she tell me she would, she simply respond, "Well I just don't have anything. If you want to leave a $50 deposit you can, and I'll call you when I have it. I can't help if people decide to stay longer!" Even a simple, " I'm sorry for the mix up," woulda been a better answer. I don't normally do bad reviews on businesses, I just let it go, but she should NOT be working in CUSTOMER SERVICE, if she doesn't want to deal with CUSTOMERS.

Don’t do it it’s roach infested, the staff is rude and unprofessional they don’t care. If you take a look under the mattress covers you will see how dirty the mattress is, the area is not safe and filled with crazy people, Faith will put you out for any reason she can find, and they talk smack about all their guest.

I FEEL SAFE and I am white I currently stay here with my husband Bad things about Haven extend stay are : Lots of drug activity (selling and useing). People hang outside till 2am. Trash all over. You have to pay a $1 for extra TP. You can get 6 rolls from dollar general for the same price. Only one towel. NO linen service. They have housekeeping but I suggest you do your own they only mop. Good things: No roaches unless you bring them with you. No bed bugs unless you bring them with you. No rats or mice. 24/7 laundromat nextdoor you will need it as they don't have laundry service here. Lots of shopping. Staff is friendly. Security walks around and if you cause trouble you get kicked out. Marta stops all along memorial drive. Full bed and a full pull out couch. Best to keep to yourself unless you like drama drugs or trouble. Phones were recently installed in every room. Over all I do recommend it we have been here for almost 4 months and have had NO problems with staff or others who stay here .
